I help Third Culture Kids, expat families, and globally mobile adults make sense of transition, grief, identity, and belonging, from someone who has lived it, not just studied it.

“The hardest part of a globally mobile childhood isn’t the moving. It’s the grief nobody names.”
By the time I was eighteen I had lived in six countries, said goodbye to four best friends, and learned to answer “where are you from?” with whatever was easiest for the person asking. It took me years, and good counseling, to understand what all that movement had built in me, and what it had cost.
Today I work exclusively with the globally mobile: Third Culture Kids and the adults they become, parents raising children across cultures, and the teachers, member care workers, and organizations who support them. My practice is trauma-informed, attachment-focused, and unapologetically practical.
Wherever you are in the world, we can work together. Every session is online, scheduled around your timezone.
Every engagement starts with a free 20-minute call so we can decide, together, whether I’m the right fit.
One-on-one sessions for TCKs and adult TCKs working through unresolved grief, identity questions, restlessness, relationships, and the quiet weight of a life lived in many places.
For families in the middle of a move, before, during, or after. We build a family transition plan, name the losses honestly, and set every member up to land well.
Training for international schools, agencies, and member care teams: transition programs, TCK-informed classrooms, and caring for globally mobile staff and their kids.

“Maya was the first counselor who didn’t need my childhood explained. I stopped translating my life and started actually working on it.”
“Our repatriation was unraveling our teenager. Three months of family sessions changed the entire tone of our home.”
“Her staff workshop was the single most useful PD our school has done on transitions. Teachers still quote it.”
Twenty minutes, no obligation. We’ll talk about what’s going on and whether working together makes sense.
